Makerspace
UAF CTL has a makerspace that is opening for the Fall 2023 semester. This space will be open for both faculty and students to use. More details will be shared when this space is officially launched.

Transdisciplinary iTeach
This workshop explores how transdisciplinary activities in your course may help engage and motivate students to be more successful. Make content relevant to a variety of discipline areas and encourage students to be well-rounded and open to new ideas, skills they can take to any classroom and to the workplace.

LEAP
In the Learner Experience Advocacy Program, undergraduate students learn about course feedback strategies and partner with participating instructors to observe and share feedback on course design and delivery. The goals of the program are to meaningfully improve the learner experience at UAF, build community among instructor and student leaders, and provide professional development to students and instructors alike.

iTeach Online
iTeach Online is a cohort-based workshop where faculty work on building their courses in the company of their peers. Attention to best practices, course alignment, student engagement and usability are emphasized. Synchronous sessions allow for cohort building and tool practice.

SoTL iTeach
In 2023, with support from the Provost’s Office, the Center for Student Success, and UAF CTL, faculty will work together to review student success data in their courses, ask questions about barriers and contributors to success, and design interventions to address disparities identified through this process. For example, that Alaska Native students were less successful in the identified courses than their non-Indigenous peers due to exclusive, Western education norms and practices in UAF classrooms. The program will follow participants through at least one semester of teaching with these interventions to help understand and document their impacts. Finally, participants will share their learning with a wider audience through a written report, presentation, grant or SEP proposal, or other method.

Quality Matters
Quality Matters (QM) is a nationally recognized peer review process for certifying quality in online courses. UAF is a QM subscribing institution. To get started, you may choose to pursue a self-guided review, or arrange for a formal review of your hybrid or online course.
