Making Teaching Easier

Leveraging Automation

My life is complicated and technology sometimes complicates it rather than simplifying it.   However, I can use automation to turn a frustrating series of tasks into a single task by using a tool called If This Then That.

If This Then That

If This Then That (IFTTT) is a powerful tool that allows you to automate actions based on a trigger and a resulting action.   Using simple boolean logic-like recipes, IFTTT users can create automated actions like those at the bottom of this page by linking one “channel’ (service) to another.

IFTTT can currently hook 151 different channels to one another, which creates a staggering number of possible recipes. Of course, you’re probably only using a handful of channels, but you may still find the service useful.

To use IFTTT, sign up for the service, then begin creating recipes. A recipe works something like this:

Consider browsing the public recipes of others for inspiration as well!
